How to Set Up Outlook Express or Windows Mail

Outlook Express is an e-mail client that was included with several versions of Microsoft Windows, starting with Windows 98 through the release of Windows XP.
While on the contrary, Windows Mail is an e-mail client included exclusively in Windows Vista.
To send or receive emails using these email clients, you first have to set up an email account in these e-mail clients. This simply means that you have to provice certain details to the e-mail client so that it can connect to the email server and send or receive emails.
This tip will lead you through the steps of setting up pre-created email accounts in Outlook Express or Windows Mail. However, I will show you only the steps for Windows Mail. Don’t worry, the steps are almost the same for both Outlook Express and Windows Mail.

Usually the incoming email server type is POP3. The incoming and outgoing mail servers can be yourdomain.com, mail.yourdomain.com or any other value depending on how the email server has been configured. Contact your hosting company for the information if you don’t see them when you create your email accounts on your domain name. If your email accounts is hosted under your internet service provider, please do call up your I.S.P. and ask them to provide the information.
If the outgoing server requires authentication, simply mark the checkbox beside it. Click on Next button after filling all the fields.

Please take note that you can actually set up multiple email accounts in Outlook Express and Windows Mail. To do so, you just have to repeat step 3 to step 8 for setting up new email accounts. After setting up all your email accounts, you can receive all emails from all your email accounts at once by clicking Send/Receive button.
Besides, you can choose which account to use when you send a message. In the create message window, choose the email account you wish to use from the “From” drop-down tool.
