Feedburner is a great tool for website owners and contributors to use if they want to make an animated widget for their RSS feed. When trying to market or promote online work, one area that is very important is presentation; what you are presenting should be visually appealing to anyone who visits your site.
1. Create a GIF file with a photo or artwork.
2. Save the GIF to Photobucket or another account.
3. Log in to your Feedburner account.
4. Select publicize, then Headline Animator.
5. Theme-Provide your own background.
6. Background Image-Enter URL to your GIF.
7. Title-select size and color of text.
8. Headlines-Check wrap headlines, select size and color of text.
9. Date-Format or uncheck to leave field out.
10. Arrange on canvas and save.
Once the animated widget has been created and saved, you can retrieve the code to place the widget on your sites. MySpace, TypePad, Wordpress, and Blogger codes are immediately available. There is also a code to turn your animated widget into an email signature.
The animated widget will show the last three posts that were uploaded to the RSS feed. If someone clicks a title, a new page opens showing the RSS feed for the URL attached to the widgets.There is also a general code that should work anywhere that HTML is accepted.
The animated widget will also display the titles of the feed without having to click a link. A nice way to cross promote your work would be to post widgets from each of your RSS feeds to your other sites.
